TL;DR

At the Gifu (岐阜) weather station, which we use for Gifu, the warmest month is August (average high 33.4 °C) and the coldest January (average low 0.7 °C), averaged over 1991–2020. The wettest month is July (271 mm of rain). Gifu's quietest month for visitors in 2025 was June.

The quietest and busiest months

In 2025, June was Gifu's quietest month (6.4% of the year's guest nights): average high 27.8 °C, average low 19.3 °C, 224 mm of rain. August was the busiest (10.8%): average high 33.4 °C, average low 24.6 °C, 170 mm of rain. The figures do not show that the weather makes a month busier or quieter, so we do not say it does.
