Which holidays fall next to a weekend?

2026. On a Monday or Friday: Good Friday (Friday 3 April), Easter Monday (Monday 6 April), Whit Monday (Monday 25 May), Christmas Day (Friday 25 December). On a Saturday or Sunday: Easter Sunday (Sunday 5 April), Whit Sunday (Sunday 24 May), Second day of Christmas (Saturday 26 December).

2027. On a Monday or Friday: New Year's Day (Friday 1 January), Good Friday (Friday 26 March), Easter Monday (Monday 29 March), Whit Monday (Monday 17 May). On a Saturday or Sunday: Easter Sunday (Sunday 28 March), Whit Sunday (Sunday 16 May), Christmas Day (Saturday 25 December), Second day of Christmas (Sunday 26 December).

What the source says. Great Prayer Day (store bededag) stopped being a holiday on 1 January 2024. Constitution Day (5 June) and Christmas Eve are not on the law’s list of holy days.
