PID, Prague's integrated public transport system, lists five lines from Václav Havel Airport: 59 to Veleslavín for metro line A (approx. 35 minutes), 100 to Zličín for metro line B (approx. 45 minutes), AE from Terminal 1 to the Main Railway Station (approx. 45 minutes), and night lines 907 and 910 from Terminal 2.1

Which public transport lines run from the airport to the city?
PID's page on travel to the airport lists these connections, with what it calls the travel time to the city centre.1
| Line | Route | Possible transfer | Travel time to the city centre (PID) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 59 | Airport ↔ Veleslavín Station | Metro line A | approx. 35 minutes1 |
| 100 | Airport ↔ Zličín | Metro line B | approx. 45 minutes1 |
| AE | Terminal 1 ↔ Main Railway Station | Metro line C and trains | approx. 45 minutes1 |
| 907 (night) | Terminal 2 ↔ Baně | Night lines | approx. 50 minutes1 |
| 910 (night) | Terminal 2 ↔ Na Beránku | Night lines | approx. 45 minutes1 |
The times are PID's approximate figures. For current timetables and departures, use PID's airport page, which links each line's timetable.1
Which terminal do the lines leave from?
PID lists AE from Terminal 1 and the night lines 907 and 910 from Terminal 2.1
According to PID, Terminal 1 serves flights outside the Schengen area (it gives the USA, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Japan as examples), and Terminal 2 serves flights within the Schengen area (for example Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Poland). The terminals are open non-stop.1
How do you get into the city late at night?
PID says the metro runs daily from approximately 5:00 to midnight, and night services run between 0:00 and 4:30.1
PID describes lines 901 to 917 as night buses, running at 30- or 60-minute intervals. Lines 907 and 910 link the airport directly with the centre without a change; PID says the trip from stops such as I. P. Pavlova or Náměstí Republiky takes 45 minutes, with a service every 30 minutes.1
The same tickets apply on night lines as during the day.1
How do tickets work?
We do not reproduce fares here. PID publishes ticket prices for each airport line on its airport page; AE has its own price, and PID says 24-hour and 72-hour tickets do not apply to lines with special tariffs such as AE.1
- Where to buy: ticket machines at stops, in metro vestibules and at the airport; the Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) counters in the public areas of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2; PID's mobile app; SMS; and contactless payment terminals in all city transport vehicles.1
- Paper tickets are validated once, on first boarding or in the metro vestibule; at the airport stops, the validators are on the platform. Validating again makes the ticket invalid.1
- App tickets must be activated at least 60 seconds before the trip; for the metro, before you enter the paid area.1
- One ticket each. Group tickets for several passengers cannot be bought in Prague, so each passenger needs their own.1
- Luggage up to 25 × 45 × 70 cm travels free; larger items need a ticket of their own.1
PID warns that travelling without a valid or properly validated ticket may lead to a fine.1
Times are approximate and fares change: check PID before you travel.
What this page cannot tell you
- Approximate times. PID gives the travel times as approximate; traffic and disruptions can change them.
- Vehicle types not stated. PID's table names lines, not vehicles; apart from PID's description of lines 901 to 917 as night buses, we do not say what kind of vehicle each line uses.
- No fares on this page. Prices change; PID's page lists the current ones.
- Changes and closures. PID announces disruptions and operational changes on its site and app; we did not record any.

Key takeaways
- Line 59 connects the airport with metro line A at Veleslavín, and line 100 with metro line B at Zličín.
- AE runs from Terminal 1 to the Main Railway Station, with its own fare; 24-hour and 72-hour tickets do not apply on it.
- At night, lines 907 and 910 run from Terminal 2 into the city without a change.
- What we would skip: boarding with an app ticket you have just bought; PID says to activate it at least 60 seconds before the trip.
