Italy's transport ministry runs a strike calendar covering air, sea, rail, local public transport, taxis and hire cars with drivers, searchable by sector. In Portugal, the labour relations directorate DGERT publishes strike notices and the minimum services set for them. Both are official; check them close to your dates.13
Italy: the ministry's strike calendar
Italy's Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport publishes a calendar of planned strikes in air transport, sea transport, rail, local public transport, and taxis and hire cars with drivers. It can be searched by sector and by how relevant the strike is.1
Open the strike calendar (linked from the ministry's page). The ministry also publishes an open dataset of transport strikes, but its catalogue page showed a last update in 2022, so use the calendar.12
Portugal: strike notices and minimum services
Portugal's Directorate-General for Employment and Labour Relations (DGERT) has a section for advance notices of strikes and another for strikes and minimum services, where it publishes the orders setting the services that must still run.3 It covers all sectors, not only transport. See DGERT's strike notices.
Other countries
We found no official central register we could use for Spain, France, Belgium or Greece. Your airline, rail operator or ferry company will tell you if your journey is affected; for your rights if it is cancelled, see flight delay compensation and train, bus and ferry rights.
What this page cannot tell you
- Not a live list. We link to the official pages and do not copy their notices, which change daily.
- Portugal's pages are all rights reserved. We describe them in our own words and link to them.

Key takeaways
- Italy: one ministry calendar covers air, sea, rail, local transport and taxis.
- Portugal: DGERT lists strike notices and minimum services in every sector.
- Check close to your travel dates; notices change often.
- What we would skip: relying on news reports alone; the official pages show what has actually been notified.
